12/26/05 - Wipers Stop Working in Snow Storm

It's about 6:30PM (very dark here in Central NY) on December 26th, 2005. I'm on my way home from my in-laws after Christmas. Visibility is terrible. All of a sudden the wipers stop. I call On-Star to see if they can diagnose it but they can't. They said it must be mechanical. I flash back to our 2002 Venture days when one of the criss-crossing wipers became loose and tangled and mangled with the other during a rain storm) After arriving home (luckily I was only about 5 miles away when it happened) I opened the hood and found that the nut that holds the wiper arm on the motor was missing. The operator arm had become loose because of this. I thought the nut was long gone but I noticed it sitting on the skid plate at the bottom of the engine compartment. I put it back on and had the dealer check it the next time it was in the shop.

11/15/05 - 3378 miles - Door Moldings hare coming loose, Suction cup marks found on sliding door windows.

TSB is found on the moldings. (check yours to see if they apear to be coming off) Parts are ordered.

We noticed that we had several marks on the inside of the sliding door windows. We fog up the windows on the inside and see that there are circular shaped marks and letters and numbers. They appear to be right in the glass. Windex will not tak it off. The dealer checks them out and said they will check with GM. To this day (07/28/08) nothing has been figured out.

Two recalls are fixed (#05015 second row seat latch release handle and #05024 automatic door lock feature)

10/14/05 - Still says 911 miles Lights Flickering - Alternator

After having the car in 09/25/05, it is back in on 10/14/05 for an alternator replacement. The Red cover for the battery is also replaced at this time.

The dealer did not update the mileage - we obviously drove some miles in the 3 week sit took to get the new alternator.

09/25/05 - 911 miles -Windshield Weather Strip Loose, Flickering Lights, Mysterious parts underhood.

Windshield Weather Strip is Loose, Lights are flickering. Dealer fixes windshield weather strip. Can not fix flicker at this time. The mysterious parts end up being a cover from a battery charger and the remains of the Red battery cover. Apparently the van needed to be jumped at some point and it the red cover was broken as it was being removed to jump the battery. The red cover is replaced. On the next visit.

09/15/05 - 61 Miles - Delivery

We should have known - When we first test drove the Uplander the brakes were terrible. We let them know and they said it was because it had been sitting on the lot so long. We test drove it again when it was delivered and the brakes seemed fine.
